Councillor Carolyn Corden

Carolyn was elected as the Conservative Councillor for Fetcham East in May 2004. She is married with two children and has lived in Fetcham since 1997 apart from a short spell abroad. She currently works part time as a practice nurse in Leatherhead and Ashtead, specialising in Reproductive Health.

Carolyn is appointed to the Fetcham United Charities as a Trustee, as well as being a member of Keswick Gardens Residents Association. She is also a School Governor of Oakfield Junior School

Councillor Kathryn Westwood

Kathryn Westwood was elected Conservative Councillor for Fetcham East in 2006, maintaining the healthy Conservative majority.

Born in Gisborne New Zealand in 1959 while her palaeontologist father was on major oil exploration for BP, Kathryn came home to Surrey in 1960., on one of the first BOAC 707 flights to the the UK .She attended Tormead School for Girls in Guildford and took her A’ levels at Collingwood 6th Form college in Camberley Surrey.

After leaving school she went to work for The New Zealand High Commission in Central London. In 1979 she joined British Airways at Heathrow as a Passenger Agent in Terminal 1. She transferred to Air cabin Crew on British Airways 747 fleet in 1984, and during that time was selected to work on the Royal Flight for the Emir of Qatar.

After travelling the world, she finally put her feet back on the ground in 1989 when she had her first child .She then was selected to join the Terminal Operations Team at Terminal 1. While there she was pivotally involved with the development of the present stand planning and towing computer programmes.

In 1997 she was promoted to the now Turnround Management Team. Licensed on a yearly basis to CAA requirements for Aircraft Weight and Balance, Dangerous Goods, and Health and safety .Solely responsible on a flight by flight basis for all the passengers and staff at the aircraft side. Her brief is to ensure the punctuality, safety and commercial viability of each flight she controls. She is qualified to handle the whole of the BA Fleet from short haul 737’s to long haul 747s. She is eagerly awaiting the opening of Terminal 5, the new home for British Airways at Heathrow.

Kathryn married her late husband in 1983, and has two children aged 18 and 15. The eldest just having started at Leeds University, the younger just beginning her GCSEs. Sadly widowed in 1993, she moved to Effingham in 1994 so her children could go to school in Guildford. She moved to Fetcham in 2005.

She is particularly keen to see the election of a Conservative Government under David Cameron.

She is a Member of the Fetcham Residents Association and the Norbury Park Liaison group
