MOLE VALLEY CONSERVATIVE GROUP OF COUNCILLORS - "A WINNING TEAM"

From Abinger to Ashtead, Bookham to Boxhill and Charlwood to Coldharbour, Mole Valley’s residents are choosing Conservative councillors to represent them on the District Council.

Jean Pearson, Leader of the Council says:-

"What we have here is a winning team. Our Conservative councillors come from all walks of life and all kinds of backgrounds. Whether they’re out in the community or meeting at the council offices, these are the people who have made Mole Valley a top quality council."

This is what we’ve achieved in the last year:-

  • We have the third lowest council tax in Surrey
  • We have delivered significant improvements in services whilst keeping council tax increases below the level of inflation.
  • A new constitution for our council means we will be making faster decisions as well as being more accountable to our residents.
  • We have given the go-ahead to plans for a multi-million pound refurbishment of the Leatherhead Leisure Centre
  • We have transferred our housing stock to the new Mole Valley Housing Association. Now council tenants will get a better service and at the same time, we have freed up capital to secure Mole Valley’s future. In addition we are facilitating more affordable homes than ever before.
  • We are taking community initiatives including deep cleaning Dorking town centre and providing more community buses.
  • We are now collecting glass at your doorstep, as well as conducting a trial on food waste

Mole Valley’s Conservative Council is determined to keep up the good work.

For the next year, we have set four key priorities:-

  • We will be creating a better environment – Mole Valley has a whole range of initiatives to improve and protect our environment. Our recycling record is up with the top authorities - we are the fourth best dry recycling council in the country!
  • We will be improving Customer Services – the way we deliver our council services to the community is already good, but we want to make it better. We’re investing in new technology in order to streamline these vital services.
  • We will be encouraging Healthier Lifestyles - Conservative councillors have rolled out a number of new initiatives for people of all ages including new recreation grounds and youth clubs for young people and dancing classes for our elderly.
  • We will be Reaching Every Community – we want to get Mole Valley linked up and ensure that people can travel easily and safely in our community.
