James has lived in Westcott with his wife Catherine ever since they graduated from nearby Royal Holloway University of London.  They have now been joined by a son Matthew who goes to the village school and daughter Emma. James worked in Financial Services for more than a decade before taking a career change to provide interim management support for NHS change management and efficiency programmes, ensuring hospital resources are maximised towards patient care. James first got to appreciate the strengths of the NHS through more than 15 years of Hospital Radio Broadcasting and is currently a regular contributor to Saturday Sportscene at Radio Wey based at St Peter’s Hospital Chertsey.

James has been a playing member of Westcott Cricket Club ever since he moved here and for eight years he was on the village school governing body, chairing the Finance and Staffing committee and then for three years as Chair of the Governing Body itself. James was a member of the PCC at Holy Trinity and is now Churchwarden at St John the Evangelist Wotton. He is Chair of Westcott in Bloom and was Treasurer of the Westcott Millennium Group which raised money for many village causes. James is also a member of City University’s Audit and Risk committee.
